As you head out to Westport, you’ll spot the sign for Brady’s Oysters as you catch your first glimpse of the harbor oyster farm. Take a right after you cross the bridge and you’ll find this family owned and operated business spanning 4 generations offering oysters grown on Suspended Culture, a unique method developed by Brady Engvall in the early 1970’s. This method keeps the oyster out of the mud, yielding a better tasting oyster. You might even be able to catch a tour of the small farm if the shop isn’t too busy.

DIY Oyster Hunting

Going to hit the sand and find some of your own delicious sea treats? There are a few things you need to know. For one, you must shuck your oysters on the beach!
